From Friday, 15th December, until Monday, 18th December, the Church of the Resurrection in Blarney held their festive weekend.
The Rev. Abigail Sines, Associate Minister in Carrigrohane Union, writes:
Our festive weekend began on Friday, 15 December, with a morning of decorating our Community Christmas Tree. The theme was ‘Angels we have heard on high’.
We were delighted that Rang 4 from Gaelscoil Mhuscraí paid us a visit to hang their colourfully decorated angel ornaments. Blarney Toddlers, Blarney Growth Group, Blarney and District Historical Society, the Mindful Makers, and YMCA PAKT also created ornaments for the tree. In the afternoon there was a make-and-take craft workshop.
On Saturday we had out outdoor Nativity Sheep Trail, complete with nativity characters in costume, and two live sheep kindly on loan from Blarney Castle!
Monday, 18th December, rounded off the weekend with the Candlelight Carol Service, featuring music by the Blarney Brass and Reed Band, and lessons read by leaders from various community groups and organisations, with light refreshments following the service.
