Archdeacon installed at St Fachtna’s Cathedral, Rosscarbery

Last Sunday, 2nd July 2023, the Archdeacon of Cork, Cloyne and Ross, the Ven. Andrew Orr was installed into his stall at St Fachtna’s Cathedral, Rosscarbery. The Choir of St Fin Barre’s Cathedral, Cork visited Ross Cathedral for the occasion to sing Choral Evensong under the direction of Peter Stobart and with Matthew Breen, Assistant Director of Music, on the organ. The Rev. Canon Elaine Murray, Rector of Carrigaline Union and Prebend of Timoleague on the Chapter of St Fachtna’s Cathedral, read the mandate and the Dean of Ross, the Very Rev. Cliff Jeffers, installed the Archdeacon into his stall.

The Archdeacon was supported by a gathering of family members, members of the cathedral Chapter and members of the cathedral congregation. After the service the congregation, choir and clergy were all invited to a barbecue in the Deanery.
