After many postponements, a confirmation service was finally held at St Fin Barre’s Cathedral on 6th November 2021. Fifteen young people came from the cathedral parish, as well as from Cobh and Glanmire Union, and Abbeystrewry Union to be confirmed by the Bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross, Dr Paul Colton.

The Rev. Ted Ardis, Dean’s Vicar at St Fin Barre’s Cathedral, said:
The confirmation on 6th November was a great day for us as a cathedral as well as for the candidates themselves. We were very touched to receive a personal note from one parent outside the parish, saying, “It was great to get our child confirmed and to enjoy the beautiful venue and divine music.” The ‘divine music’ was provided by the adult members of the choir with our Director of Music and Assistant Director of Music, whom we thank. What made it all so personal was the friendly manner of our bishop, who made the service truly a celebration of the gift and call from our loving God.
