Some of the Choir of St Fin Barre’s Cathedral, Cork Sing Again from Home

Recently, the boy choristers of Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral, Cork sang Magnificat from their homes – a challenge in itself.  That was reported HERE.

Now, it is the turn of the girl choristers.  Director of Music Peter Stobart says:

After the success of the boys singing from home it was time to do something similar involving the girls. ‘O where shall wisdom be found?’ is a favourite anthem of the girl choristers so I knew that they would know it well and be keen to record it at home.

Sections of it are much harder to put together than the straightforward Magnificat which the boys sang, and my editing skills were put to the test once again.

The overlapping parts in the anthem have mostly been realised successfully, though I did have to enlist the help of one or two of the adults to plug a few gaps in the music!

This track in its full form is included on the Cathedral Choir’s forthcoming CD celebrating 150 years of the Cathedral building. The second edits of this CD arrived this morning and everyone is looking forward to its release in September.
