On behalf of the Diocesan Council of Cork, Cloyne and Ross, the Bishop, Dr Paul Colton, is delighted to announce the appointment of Hilda Connolly as part-time Diocesan Youth Development Officer based in West Cork. This is the first of two part-time appointments being made by the Diocese in the youth work area.
Hilda introduces herself:
Hi all, my name is Hilda Connolly and I live in Clonakilty with my husband, Kevin, and my two little boys, Rory (4yrs) and Barry (nearly 3). Being surrounded by males can be very chaotic and crazy at times but it’s a lovely change having come from a family of 4 sisters and 1 brother!!
I don’t get too much time to “relax”, probably because I find it difficult to sit still, but when I do I love listening to music, reading, and just taking time out to have fun with my family. I love to talk too, so catching up with friends could go on for hours!
For the past 4 years, I have had the pleasure of being part of the R.E.A.L.I.T.Y Schools’ Team and in September 2012 I was appointed the coordinator of the team. This was a huge achievement and I have loved every minute of it! I have also been involved with the West Cork Youth Group Committee, Crosslinks, local Youth Groups, Sunday School and Girls’ Brigades.
I am really looking forward to getting stuck in in developing the youth sector and in helping out in any way I can. I am excited about meeting new people and some familiar faces over the coming months too. So put the kettle on!!
