Clergy from the United Dioceses of Cork, Cloyne and Ross recently completed a QQI (Level 6) Team Leadership Management Module at Northridge House Education and Research Centre (at Saint Luke’s Charity, Cork).

Supported by the Bishop, the clergy were part of the first running of the recently validated training programme. Northridge House, at St Luke’s Charity, has been a provider of various QQI Modules in healthcare and has expanded its suite of courses to include a number of management based modules. Northridge House has also been the venue for many training events, including training for clergy and lay church workers in the Prevention of Elder Abuse and Dementia Care.

The module was provided by Ms Ann Pettitt and was a 10 week course. The Rev. Robert Ferris commented on the benefits of professional training that was shared with other disciplines and how it broadened the vision of all.    Commenting on the programme the Rev. Denis McCarthy shared how relevant the training would be within a diocesan context in the light of the Cork, Cloyne and Ross initiative “Charting the Future in Confidence”. Denis felt it was very useful in the insights gained into how teams may be developed both within parishes and between parishes.
