Open Night and Announcement of Courses at St Luke’s Home Education Centre, Cork

On Thursday, 27th August, during a visit to St Luke’s Home Education Centre, Cork, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr Paul Colton, was briefed by Bruce Pierce, Director of Education at the Centre, about a forthcoming Open Night and also the wide range of courses being offered in the year ahead.

There will be an Open Night on Tuesday, 1st September at St Luke’s Home Education Centre (Northridge House, Castle Road, Mahon, Cork) 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.  There is an open invitation to people to come to view the facilities, as well as to meet the tutors to discuss the courses that are available.  More than 40 courses are on offer, including: Pastoral Courses,  Personal Development Courses, QI Accredited Courses, and a wide range of courses for those Caring for the Older Adult in Residential Care, including directors of care, nurse managers, and staff nurses.  The full list of courses is available here.

St Luke’s Home Education Centre is an initiative of the Board of Directors of the Cork-based Christian charity under the chairmanship of Bishop Paul Colton – St Luke’s Home, Cork – led by the Director of Education, Bruce Pierce.    All courses are presented by accredited facilitators and all participants will receive certificates. Many of the courses have An Bord Altranais Category 1 Approval. During November 2011 St Luke’s Home Education Centre was accredited as a Registered Provider by QQI. The Centre offers a number of modules, at competitive prices, across the healthcare and managerial sectors at both Level 5 and 6.

Individual courses are also provided off site and are tailor made to the needs of other individual Care Centres, helping to meet the diverse and fluctuating needs, which vary between Centres. Courses offered are responsive to the needs of other Care Centres and those of Statutory Requirements.

All Courses at St. Luke’s Home commence at 9:30 sharp. Places are limited and to ensure an appropriate learning environment for each participant early booking is advised.
