Cork, Cloyne and Ross ~ Renewal of Commitment to Ministry at Chrism Eucharist on Maundy Thursday

Clergy, lay church workers and volunteers from around Cork, Cloyne and Ross joined the Bishop, the Right Reverend Dr Paul Colton, in Saint Fachtna’s Cathedral, Rosscarbery on Maundy Thursday, 2nd April for the annual Chrism Eucharist.  The oils for use in pastoral and sacramental ministry were consecrated by the Bishop, and all present renewed their commitment to ministry.  The Dean of Ross, the Very Reverend Christopher Peters, made the arrangements for the liturgy and was present together with the Cathedral Chapter.   Colin Nicholls was organist, and afterwards, thanks to the local parishioners, a magnificent light lunch was served to everyone in the narthex of the Cathedral.  People from the Diocese were joined by visitors from the U.K. and from as far away as the U.S.A. and New Zealand.

Here are the photos (taken by Sam Wynn, Diocesan Communications Officer):
